2020 CALABAR

AHP Proposal Writing Workshop

18th to 19th November 2020.

Venue: 141 Ndidem Usang Iso Road, (Marian Road) Opposite Access Bank, Calabar.

Online Workshop via ZOOM also available!

About the Workshop

The 2020 Online AHP Proposal Writing Workshop is structured, primarily to assist all those applying for the African Humanities Program (AHP) annual competitions, to prepare very good proposals.

Over the years, researches have shown that, although many Nigerian scholars submit proposals to the African Humanities Program and Next Generation Programs, only very few have emerged successful. It was further revealed that many of these budding researchers were neither aware, nor conversant with some of the necessary techniques and requirements for writing successful proposals for international competitions. This informs the need for Proposal Writing Workshops.

To this end, all the intended participants in the In-group sessions are expected to submit a draft essay of their proposal. However, since proposal writing workshops provide ample opportunities for everyone engaging in various academic pursuits in tertiary institutions, to learn more about the processes of academic writing and to get information about the AHP competitions, the 2020 Online AHP workshop is therefore designed to accommodate these needs too.

In order to promote excellence in academic scholarship, the general target audience for this 2020 Online workshop shall include, but not limited to, early-and-mid career academics, post graduate students and undergraduate students (particularly those that are in their final years of study).

Why AHP?

The African Humanities Program (AHP) and Next Generation Social Sciences are grant awarding programs that offer financial awards ranging between $13,000 to $19,000 dollars to successful African scholars/researchers from Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda.
